After Kroos' decision to retire...what did Real Madrid players and officials do?

Media reports revealed that Real Madrid players and officials tried to persuade Toni Kroos to rescind his decision to retire at the end of the current season.

This week will undoubtedly be dedicated to “mourning and celebrating” the departure of Kroos, who is 34 years old.

The "Football Spain" website said that tickets for Kroos's last match in the "Santiago Bernabeu" against Real Betis were sold out, noting that his colleagues in the Royal Club tried to change his mind about retiring, which was admitted by Dani Carvajal.

Carvajal stated: "We tried. We tried. But the matter is complicated. On Monday we already knew that he would not continue. We did not know that he would issue the statement on Tuesday. We know his mentality, and how consistent he is in his decisions."

He continued: "We are sad because we can only enjoy two more matches for him with Real Madrid. We respect his decision."

The team's defender stated: "In the end, he is the one who chooses how, when and where, and we must support him and be happy for him. On Saturday, in our stadium, we will hold a wonderful party for him. He deserves it."

According to the Football Spain website, Kroos is unlikely to change his decision.
